Momentum 26
Momentum 2026
Do you want new year’s resolutions that are really Useful and you can actually keep?
New Year’s resolutions are a common, yet often frustrating ritual because who actually keeps them? But… what if we really took the time to reflect on them, on what we truly need and can do? And further more design how to generate momentum to fulfill them? Then this often empty ritual could be something really powerful that helps us to improve our lives.

The “Momentum 2026” workshop is a space designed for this purpose.
It is a space that allows us to pause, to consciously connect with what’s been happening in our lives, to reflect on how it impacts us, in what direction we want it to evolve, and how to influence it positively and consciously.
This way it helps us to design what you really want to focus on from a place of connection, calmness and clarity. The event is on 10th January, starting from 9am at Camino Art House.

The Method
The main tools used in this workshop come from social Permaculture and Cultural Emergence, two related ways of thinking whose main ethic is care, for the planet, for ourselves and the ones around us. They offer systemic tools to observe, think and design ways of acting and being in harmony with (our) nature.

Design?
One of the central points of this workshop is design. But to what do we refer with the term? We understand it as shaping a certain thing consciously in the way that works best for what we want. And we do this through a methodical process, usually divided in observation, analysis, design and implementaton.
And good design has one distinctive property: It just works.
This workshop is a possibility to dip your toes into the powerful world of holistic design, a deeply empowering way of thinking and working.

How do we do it?
During the workshop we want to design for ourselves, in a way that is adapted to the complexity of our inner and outer landscapes.
For that we will use three main tools:
Connection practices: In the systemic way of thinking, connections, the relationships between beings, are essential. When those are good clarity and abundance emerges. So it is fundamental to do everything from a place of connections. And there are many levels of: with yourself, with other human beings, with the more-than-human world… During the workshop we’ll be practicing connection on all three levels through different exercises.
River of Life: It’s a simple technique where you draw a river as a metaphor for the flow of your life – from the birth at the spring, till we dissolve into the sea. We’ll be looking at the section that is this year through drawing, writing and sharing practices – to help us to remember, comprehend and let go.
Design Web: The design web is a design process that helps us to think more systematically and deeply, finding solutions that we wouldn’t have considered otherwise. After connecting and remembering, we’ll go through the process together, helping us to discover the New Year’s resolutions we really need.

Facilitator
Kathy Otto
I’m all about helping people to bring into the world the projects they want to make reality, those projects they believe are necessary. That goes from gaining clarity about what they want to do, to finding the right structures to hold the project and also defining the next steps. I do this in a way that is systemic, careful and effective.
I am trained in social sciences, permaculture, cultural emergence, regenerative design, social theatre, alternative pedagogics, nonviolence.
