Who WE ARE
Camino Art House Family
Hey, nice to have you here! On your Camino 🙂 we all walk our own paths, coming from far apart, yet something like a magnet brought us together. This place keeps connecting us forever, and it truly feels like home.
I am deeply grateful for all the volunteers, guests, participants, and artists who help create Camino. Together, we form an ever-growing family. Thank you for being here and staying! I love you all from the deepest corner of my heart. — Bea
Our animals also play a big role in daily life, adding joy and connection to every moment.
So let’s see, who we are…

Olga
Embracing Creativity
Hello everyone, I’m Olga, and I’m a big fan of Camino Art. Bea, an amazing soul, is a master at keeping the place a celebration of creativity and freedom, capturing the spirit of the hostel.
I volunteered in spring 2022, which was the perfect place at the perfect time with the perfect people. During this period, I grew spiritually, mentally, and personally. Camino, as the word suggests, is a journey. Time seems to flow differently here because magical places and moments don’t follow normal laws of physics. Consequently, it is a sanctuary for those seeking a break from the hustle of the outside world.
Later, I returned as a guest in December with my fiancée. From the moment we stepped in, a wave of positive energy embraced us. Christmas and New Year added excitement while encouraging us to join the vibrant community. The line between guests and volunteers blurred naturally. Therefore, we plan to return as volunteers in November 2023 to experience all the amazing events, which showcase the hostel’s commitment to unforgettable experiences.
Dalma
Finding Pause
Hi, I’m Dalma. In 2022, I first booked Camino for a few nights as a guest and immediately fell in love with the landscape. My first morning, I woke up in the soul cave in front of the dragon cave and thought, “What am I doing in London?”
A year later, I returned as a volunteer for 2.5 months. Camino has given me so much that I want to share it with others seeking a pause. The creative energy inspires us to build beauty. I enjoy waking up early, watching the sunrise, practicing yoga, meditating, and making breakfast. Pancakes are a must twice a week! 😄
Camino is a place to get lost and find yourself. The people become like family. This lifestyle isn’t for everyone, yet meaningful experiences await those unafraid of discomfort. Coco, my favorite dog, adds joy to each day. 🤍

Hannah
Reconnecting
Hi, I’m Hannah from Australia. After exploring my home country, I embarked on my first big overseas journey, eventually finding Camino at the end of my European travels. It was the first place I arrived on the island, and I was blown away.
Instantly, it felt like joining a family in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. Camino offers a quiet, reflective atmosphere while still surrounding you with inspiring people. Many unforgettable moments stay close to my heart—especially the clouds rolling under moonlight at night. This place holds magic, fosters growth, and encourages connection. Additionally, sharing delicious meals with music and laughter made the experience even more special. Endless thanks to Bea and everyone else involved. 🌀
Daniboy
A new home
Greetings! My name is Daniel (aka Dani-boy), a traveler from Venezuela. I have spent three years outside my homeland and one year volunteering at Camino Art. For me, it became a new home, opening the doors to wonderful experiences.
From the first day, I was amazed by the creativity and energy of the place. The people care deeply for the hostel; they form a team close to family, and you instantly feel part of it. Here, I could start or continue building great memories with travelers, enriched by art, music, food, animals (Minino Art family and Dublin), and nature. My year at Camino helped me share, learn, and grow.

Zsombor
Peace love and fun
People call me Zsombor Kása, but I try not to define myself by my name. I aim to embody peace, love, and fun simultaneously. To reach this balance, I practice Chi Kung (Qigong), meditation, sports, and adventures like hiking and hitchhiking.
Camino is my base, a place to be free and recharge physically and energetically. It helped me release old thought patterns and create something new inside and outside. Beautiful connections with people and volunteers, as well as support from nature, make Camino exceptional.

I arrived at Camino without expectations, only curiosity. From the first moment, I felt something different—it’s hard to describe. Camino is unbelievable: the spaces, people, and vibe are all beautiful. For those curious like me, experiencing it firsthand is a must.

Rutger
From Guest to Volunteer
My name is Rutger. I used to work as a photographer and retoucher. Eight months ago, I traveled to Gran Canaria for a break and visited a friend. Initially a guest, I later volunteered to work on the land before the Let Me Bloom ’22 Festival.
From day one, the atmosphere was welcoming. Great conversations, music, and creativity in a finca atop a green barranco made every day memorable. Hiking possibilities from here are endless, offering stunning views. Sharing meals was a highlight, connecting people more deeply. After six months, Camino still feels like home.

Andrii
Art and Transformation
Hi, I’m Andrii. My first visit to Camino convinced me to stay longer. The landscape and atmosphere captivated me immediately. Walls filled with art and the constant presence of music inspired me to volunteer.
During my time here, I had the opportunity to exhibit art with Bea and play original songs at the festival. Camino empowered me to express myself fully, transforming sorrows into beauty. It truly became a home for my soul.

MONA
Gypsy-Bohemian Spirit
I am Mona, sensitive to art, sound, and cats. Volunteering at Camino Art House was easy and rewarding.
The place brings people together. The building, decorated with mosaics and vintage furniture, sits on a hill overlooking a stunning Barranco. Nights under the moon and shared moments with friends, animals, and nature made my experience magical.

Following the Senses
I have been traveling for almost a decade. I left home during my philosophy studies in Brussels and walked the Camino de Santiago from France in 2012. Returning, I never truly felt at home in Belgium again, so I embraced a nomadic life for mental health.
For me, traveling is about people. Hostels foster connections without judgment. Camino offered unmatched acceptance. After four months visiting as a guest, I immediately volunteered. The vibe between guests, volunteers, and the project leader is extraordinary.
Five months at Camino brought countless life-changing moments. Evenings of music, conversation, and shared meals remain my favorite memories. Camino is one of my favorite places on earth, and if I return to the Canary Islands, it will be my first stop.

Daniel
Following the Senses
My name is Daniel, and I grew up in Germany. Before traveling, I led a regular life, attending university and planning the next few years. Early experiences in Australia awakened my curiosity and desire to explore further.
Life pushed me to change everything, and I stepped outside, following the sounds and smells of distant countries. I was drawn to natural ways of living and learning from diverse environments. At Camino, I was awe-struck by the beauty of the house and surroundings. It has remained a special home in my heart.
Camino is full of wonders and magical moments that shape shared memories. Each day can surprise you with a unique taste or sound, from a fresh cake in the hallway to birds singing at sunrise. This vibrant environment nourishes everyone who stays in the barranco.
Pia
Freedom and Creativity
Hi, my name is Pia, and I come from Croatia. I spent two periods at Camino, both healing and inspiring. I found Camino while searching for a volunteer opportunity and instantly knew I would stay.
Camino is a piece of heaven on Earth. It offers freedom to be and do, nurturing creativity. Art is everywhere, and nature provides sun, moon, rain, trees, and the orchestra of birds. The barranco is full of life—the greenest green.
Here, life slows down and reminds you how magical and simple it can be. I have met many like-minded people who became friends and family. Everyone at Camino touched, taught, and improved my life. Thank you to all the fairies, dragons, and furry friends ❤

Karin
Growth and Discovery
Hey! I’m Karin from Germany. After high school, I traveled alone to step out of my comfort zone. My first stage was Gran Canaria, and I stayed at Camino for two months.
I came because I love art and wanted an inspiring environment to grow. Camino is magical, with beautiful land, oranges, and nispero. The people I met became my family.
Work felt like living. I learned to cook for many people, which became a new hobby. I am grateful and happy to be part of the Camino family.

Founder and Guide
My name is Bea Baltavari, founder of Camino Art House. I am a hatha yoga and vipassana meditation teacher, traditional Thai masseur, passionate cook, and art lover.
Most of my life, I felt different from “normal,” doing what felt necessary, which led to exhibitions, theater, festivals, exchange programs, and more. Studying and creating have always been my passions.
Camino Art House is a growing project that could never exist without friends, volunteers, and artists who walk this path with me. Together, we continue walking the Camino.

Jack
Exploration and Connection
Hello, I’m Jackson from Wales. I am an artist, musician, and chef. My main passion is exploring the world, nature, and discovering people.
Camino Art House was a last-minute find and became a home away from home. The ethos attracts people who create a safe environment for personal growth, self-discovery, and coexistence with international creatives. All this happens in Barranco de Amour—a blissful experience.
CHarlie
Freedom and Community
I am Charlie from Ireland. I came to Gran Canaria two and a half years ago, after walking the Camino de Santiago. I have lived in beaches, caves, forests, and communities of all kinds.
Volunteering at Camino is my first hostel experience. Caring for the house and people feels like home. I love waking up in a cave to birds singing, walking amidst flowers, greeting early risers, and the company of Dublin and the cats. Random kitchen karaoke, acoustic jam sessions, and mantra circles make Camino a place to express your soul freely.

Camino is full of art, music, shared meals, orange and lemon trees, pets, and a campsite. It is a sanctuary from society’s pace. I spent three months as a guest and later as a volunteer. Meeting inspiring people allowed me to grow and open my mind. Guests and volunteers became a true family. I will return one day because Camino always feels like home.

Panka
Overcoming Fear
Hi, I’m Panka from Hungary. Camino Art House came into my life through two different people in different countries. I wrote to Bea in Hungarian, then English, and got accepted as a volunteer.
I left my pastry chef job and traveled solo to Gran Canaria. My original plan was two months, but I stayed four and a half. I enjoyed the animals, humans, and nature. Cooking and sharing meals, listening to music, and laughing with guests were my favorite parts. Camino helped me overcome my traveling fears and experience new connections.
